Stress-Reducing Hot Chocolate

Pamela Chavez PAMELA CHAVEZ

It’s the perfect time to add this health-boosting delightful hot chocolate to your routine.

At only three ingredients, plus water, it might be shocking to learn of the high levels of antioxidants, fiber, and overall health benefits in these whole foods.

Dates offer a plant-based low-glycemic sweetness which is the perfect complement to the potential benefits of lowered blood pressure by cacao.

Cashews have been shown to lower blood pressure and raise “good” cholesterol levels. By using raw cashews in this recipe you are essentially making a single serving of cashew milk to order. Although no need to strain, it’s perfect simply blended.

Even better than all of the health benefits is the fact that this is a dreamy dark chocolate, comforting drink. So go make a mug, sit back and revel in it.

Ingredients

  • 3 Medjool dates
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 5 whole raw cashews
  • 1 1/2 cup hot water

Method

  1. Add all four ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend thoroughly up to 60 seconds. Pour into your favorite mug.
  2. Enjoy your rich, comforting, creamy and dairy-free hot chocolate!
